The string trio in the most classical formation consisting of violin, viola and cello often welcomes a guest, and guest par excellence is the transverse flute.
Here, then, is a program that juxtaposes a String Trio with three compositions featuring flute.
The proposed compositions are all in a fairly circumscribed period, between 1780 and 1806, a period that represents somewhat the concluding phase of the so-called "Age of Enlightenment."
