Memorie di pietra, memorie di carta: Le regole di comunicazione dai romani ad oggi
Some words were written to last: this is certainly true of the inscriptions at the Lecco Archaeological Museum.
Latin words and abbreviations have come down to us thanks to the choice of a durable medium like stone. These messages followed precise rules, leaving no room for error: acronyms, text layout, and sometimes meaningful images… All of this may seem difficult to interpret, but with the help of an expert educator, we’ll be able to decipher the inscriptions at the Lecco museum using an educational worksheet.
We’ll then move on to the Historical Museum to discover, in objects much closer to our own time, the same mechanisms of communication—or to realize the major changes that have taken place.
We’ll conclude the experience by creating our own personalized inscription.
Activity for children ages 6 to 11.
