10:00 a.m. in Piazza Era in the Pescarenico district: “The Voice of the Adda” Manzoni en plein air—a theatrical reading of excerpts from *The Betrothed*, drawn from various versions of the novel, in the locations described by Alessandro Manzoni; during the readings, a guided tour of the village of Pescarenico; followed by an aperitif.
3:00 p.m., departure from Villa Manzoni: Places to Experience “Lecco, a Military Outpost, from the Goths to the Spaniards” — a themed guided tour of Manzoni’s sites;
6:00 p.m. at Villa Manzoni: Locanda Manzoni, Words of Manzoni: “War,” “Justice,” “Freedom”—theatrical readings of excerpts from the works of Alessandro Manzoni and other writers; Mauro Rossetto (Curator of the Manzoni Museum, Lecco) in conversation with Paola Italia (University of Bologna) and Massimo Ferrari (University of Turin); Manzonian dinner.
