A fascinating dive into the roots of Western culture, discovering the stars in the Homeric poems The Iliad and Odyssey are the two founding books of Greek and Western literature. The Homeric poems are a literary and historical treasure trove, but also a treasure chest of astronomical surprises. We will retrace the sky that the heroes of the two great poems saw through the entire Homeric epic from the siege of Troy to Odysseus' return to Ithaca.
